It
was required that Rugby finished
in the top seven this season
to secure a place in the Southern
League Premier as, in effect,
one league is being removed
from step two, meaning a reshuffle
of clubs downwards.
It
is certainly set to make the
standard a lot higher, with
better players and teams to
play against and grounds to
go to, and more fan-bases.
So it is all good news for Rugby
United, and the club is looking
to relish the new challenge,
especially given more changes
to the club in the summer.
The
new league consists of |
Aylesbury United
Banbury United
Bath City
Bedford Town
Chesham United
Chippenham Town
Cirencester Town
Dunstable Town
Gloucester City
Grantham Town
Halesowen Town
Hednesford Town
Hemel Hempstead
Histon
Hitchin Town
King's Lynn
Merthyr Tydfil
Rugby United
Solihull Borough
Stamford
Team Bath
Tiverton Town
The
new re-structure mans that Rugby
will face just five teams of
last season's league campaign,
but will also play many teams
who have already succeeded recently
at Western Division standard
such as Chippenham, Tiverton
and Merthyr. |
